Manzini City Business Sector Benefits From Eventful 2024 EITF!
The Municipality continued to be the host city of the 2024 Eswatini International Trade Fair under the theme; Accelerating Business Growth Through Digital Transformation. This was the 56th EITF being successfully hosted in the city which attracted local and international businesses and the public who came to visit companies’ exhibition stands and other festivities. The Manzini city economy benefitted tremendously from this year’s EITF event as local businesses got opportunities to sell, promote and market their products and services and further connected with their current and future customers. The Municipality further ensured that atleast 20 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the city directly benefit from the EITF through reserving and allocating them trading spaces. The handicraft, accommodation and food businesses in the city thrived during the EITF as domestic and international tourists flocked the city to experience this annual momentous event.
…MANZINI-MATSAPHA SISTER CITY EXHIBITION STAND A HIVE OF ACTIVITY!
The Manzini Municipality in partnership with its local sister city, Matsapha Town Council, shared an exhibition stand at the EITF which was a hive of activity as it was visited by many different stakeholders during the 10-day event. Both cities provided developmental and service delivery information to stakeholders and further availed selected municipality services. The sister-city relations between the two municipalities is a strategic cooperative and collaboratory integrated development initiative agreed by both Councils through an MoU for sustainable development of both local authorities and their peri-urban areas.
…EDUCATIONAL MANZINI CITY, RSTP BUSINESS SEMINAR
The Municipality partnered with the Royal Science Technology Park (RSTP) for successfully hosting the 2024 Manzini City Business Seminar for local and external businesses and strategic stakeholders. The theme of the seminar was “The Role of Information Communication Technology on Business and Economic Growth” which was in alignment with the 2024 EITF theme of “Accelerating Business Growth through Digital Transformation”. The seminar panelists included representatives from both public and private sectors who shared knowledge, information, experiences and best practices on the use of ICTs for business growth, customer service and economic growth. The Municipality expresses her appreciation to all the stakeholders and individuals who participated in this impactful business seminar. …NEW SECURITY PATROL TEAM FOR MANZINI CITY
Citizens of the City of Manzini and all other stakeholders are notified that the Municipality has engaged a new security patrol team for the city. The name of the private security company is Gridlock Security Services and it started performing its responsibilities in the city at the beginning of this month. Security personnel from the company is identifiable by a grey camouflage combat suit that is branded with the company name. The company is responsible for law enforcement and crime prevention, addressing public nuisances and maintaining public order in the city centre, neighbourhoods and public spaces such as the bus rank and recreational parks. Citizens are urged to support the security company as it executes its responsibilities. The Municipality has in the past noted with concern security personnel being attacked by members of the public whilst executing their duties. Citizens are urged to stop such behaviour. In the event that one is of the view that the security personnel is treating offenders in an indecent or unfair manner, they are encouraged to feel free to report them through the Municipality’s 24/7 Call Centre (800 2004/2505 7000) or the official WhatsApp line (7808 2333/7908 2333).
Citizens are also encouraged to report any activities within their communities that disturb peace; such as noise pollution, open burning of waste, presence of stray animals, noisy roosters and others. The security company will swiftly attend to such issues. Likewise, citizens are urged to report vandalism to the Municipality’s infrastructure through the same communication channels. All reports will be handled with confidentiality. With support from the community, the Municipality is committed to creating a safer and more enjoyable urban environment for all citizens.
