Eswatini International Trade Fair: A Must-Visit For The Next 10 Days
With effect from this Friday until the 8th September 2024, the Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre is one of the top must-visit facilities for business networking, entertainment and leisure. Over 300 exhibitors from a cross section of the Eswatini economy as well as internationally will be showcasing their products and services. On the sidelines of the exhibition show there will be a host of entertainment activities such as a football tournament, music and business seminars. Ever since August 1968, when the country, through the then Manzini Town Board, hosted its first international trade show, then referred to as the Swaziland Independence Exhibition and debuting as the largest agricultural and cultural show, the event has over the years grown in leaps and bounds and the City of Manzini, in partnership with Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority, continues to be the proud host city of this one-stop consumer services platform. This year’s trade fair is themed “Accelerating Business Growth through Digital Transformation.”
As part of a showcase of their growing sister-city relationship, the Municipal Council of Manzini and Matsapha Town Council will be sharing an exhibition stand in Hall number 1 at the Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre. One of the striking features of the exhibition stand will be a showcase of the two municipalities’ vision of their integration into a 24-hour smart, green and sustainable metropolitan city. The municipalities call on trade fair visitors to make it a point that they visit the exhibition stand and learn more about the envisioned metro; which will be the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Eswatini. It suffices to mention that the vision is inspired by His Majesty King Mswati III’s statement that he made recently to the effect that it is time Matsapha and Manzini city merged and became one city. Whilst at this vibrant and interactive exhibition stand, visitors will also be afforded an opportunity to explore a range of exciting municipal service digital advancements; in alignment with this year’s trade fair theme. These include:
- Rates & Service Fees Payment Services: Effortless online payment options for convenience.
- Building Plans Processing Service: Faster, more efficient digital platforms for building plans approvals.
- Front Desk/Reception Services: Enhanced digital tools for streamlined and easier access to municipal assistance and information.
- Customer Feedback Management Services: Advanced systems for real-time customer feedback collection.
- CEO and Directors Appointments Coordination: Simplified digital processes for scheduling appointments and engaging with municipal leadership.
The stall will not only be a showcase of technological advancements but also a hub for interaction. Trade fair visitors, young and old, are encouraged to visit and engage with the municipal representatives to learn more about the services offered. As a special highlight, visitors will have the chance to win exciting prizes throughout the fair; adding an extra layer of enthusiasm to the experience.
This year’s Eswatini International Trade Fair serves as a perfect platform for the Municipal Council of Manzini and Matsapha Town Council to demonstrate their commitment to modernizing municipal services and preparing for future metropolitan integration. The fair provides a unique opportunity for the public to experience firsthand the benefits of digital transformation in local governance.
The municipalities extend an invitation to all citizens to visit their stall and explore how digital innovation is driving progress in municipal service delivery. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this exciting chapter in the evolution of local governance in Eswatini.
